I have a strange issue with a website named booking.com. Earlier all was fine. It happens when accessing the website on Windows or Linux PC with any recent browser.
There’s a messaging system within the website where you can send & receive messages to Customer Service. The issue is the right frame which is supposed to show the messages, only shows 4 rotating circles and the messages never load.
Interestingly their Android app is working fine.
This is what I have tried but that did not help
- Clean cache, cookies, temp files. Waited for over 30 minutes to see if messages load.
- Incognito mode
- Tried from Chrome, Edge, Brave, Mozilla
- Created a brand new Windows 11 VM with no previous cookies or history etc and tried accessing
- Changed the ISP from cable to Mobile hotspot
- In Blue stacks Android emulator I used Android Chrome app and accessed. The issue repeated inside the chrome browser on Android Emulator
- Used a Linux PC and browser on Linux OS. Same behaviour.
I’m clueless where the issue is but my understanding is that it’s a backend issue. The booking.com team confirmed that this is not a global issue and they could not reproduce the issue so far.
What else I can try and what else they (backend team) can try to fix this?
The account is accessed using my email id (as username) and verification code received in the email.
To give you an idea how it looks like. Here's a screenshot. The 4 circles that you see in right frame just endlessly keep on rotating but the frame does not load.
