Until very recently, if I got a sharing link for a file in google drive (Workspace for Education), it would look something like:
https://drive.google.com/file/[FILE_ID]/viewIrrepsective of the type of file.
However, recently, the links have started directing to the appropraite google app depending on the file type, so word documents get
https://docs.google.com/document/[FILE_ID]/viewExcel files get
https://sheets.google.com/spreadsheet/[FILE_ID]/viewand powerpoints get
https://slides.google.com/presentation/[FILE_ID]/viewIs there anyway to stop this? I am creating lessons, and I need to students to actually download the files, not edit them in the web app (we use features not available in the web apps). Asking them to Use File>Download tends to lead them to do everything incorrectly in the web app until they find something they can't do, and then realise they needed to download it.
