Email synced from Gmail appeared in Outlook yesterday but disappeared today, nowhere to be found (but is still in Gmail)

Yesterday, I received an email in my Outlook inbox (for work). This was an email synced from my Gmail account. Today, it disappeared from Outlook completely, but is still in my Gmail account. The email is not in junk, or deleted items, or in the archive, or anywhere else.

This is not the first time it happens. There are tons of emails that I cannot find with the Outlook search because of this. How do I change this?

I am completely baffled by this behavior. Why would Outlook ever remove emails that already passed its filters and were already shown to me?

I run the Outlook app for MacOS Sequoia 15.6.1.

Update: When I replied to the email in Gmail today, the reply was duly forwarded to Outlook and I received it. Let's see if this one disappears tomorrow as well. But the original email is still not there.

Update 2: It's hard to be sure, but it seems that most of the emails that disappear are getting labeled "Repeated" in gmail. These also appear to be emails that I once snoozed in Outlook. This seems to be the symptom of a syncing issue between Gmail and Outlook that are triggered by the snooze functionality.
