How to prevent going insane when listening to music with YT music or spotify?

There is an interesting predicament I find myself in.

I have used YouTube music for a long time, and it is bizarre. I have a bunch of songs that I have disliked, and have also skipped at least 100 times each, and yet YT music autoplays them on a daily basis. Actually sometimes multiple times a day.

I have had no choice but to make the switch to Spotify, because, as my instinct tells me, surely Spotify could not be as bad?

Well, it has been a couple weeks, and I find myself in an interesting predicament, an eerily familiar one at that.

I have a bunch of songs that I don't like, and have skipped at least 30 times each, and yet Spotify autoplays them on a daily basis, if not more.

Note that I also have the artist corresponding to each song blocked through the "Don't play this artist" option, and yet it continues to autoplay, on... drumroll... a daily basis.

It is shocking that Spotify has no dislike button, but I found if I switch to the mobile app, they offer a mysterious "minus" button not available on my typical desktop. Upon pressing this button, it says "hidden in pop mix". Only hidden from a single mix? Not hidden entirely?

I am trying to wrap my head around these inexplicable circumstances we find our society in.

How can I reliably and efficiently avoid insanity in my ongoing journey to listen to music on the web?

Or is it something that simply can't be avoided due to technological limitations in today's microbiome?

Is it too much to ask to not have to listen to a song.. like.. ever again?
