How to use automatic current date in filename in google docs / google drive

I've seen methods on how to add the current date to the document itself, but I'm not sure what would work for adding the current date to the filename. This could be a Google Drive issue rather than a Google Docs issue. I also don't see the script editor, that is mentioned in tips to update the date in the document.
