LinkedIn user (not me) with my updated email address: security risk? how to fix?

I do have access to my single, free, personal, LinkedIn account using two unrelated email addresses. And I can receive email from LinkedIn at both of them. But one of them (which I recently made secondary), say pup@old.org, is the original email address I used to sign up to LinkedIn.

A decade or more ago, it appears that, due to a policy change, the admins of old.org switched my email account over to pup@NEW.org. When I login to my email account as pup@NEW.org I can also read any email addressed to pup@old.org as if I am looking at one inbox. But when I reply to email sent from the LinkedIn admins/moderators (or anyone else) to pup@old.org it appears to them to be sent by pup@NEW.org, and thus inauthentic.

On top of that, another user has created an (unknown to me) LinkedIn account using email address pup@NEW.org. So LinkedIn won't let me use it myself. But in all my web searching I couldn't find any way given by LinkedIn help pages or otherwise to simply and directly use pup@NEW.org with my current LinkedIn account.

The run-of-the-mill LinkedIn help pages such as, Report a compromised account | LinkedIn Help (because I have been recently able to regain access to my account even though I forgot my password and so far I don't believe that someone else has accessed my account), Email address is already registered | LinkedIn Help (because this is not a "recycled email address," it is my updated email address), or Report inaccurate information on another member's profile | LinkedIn Help, really don't address this issue.

I believe I'd like to use pup@NEW.org with my current LinkedIn account because it seems like a security problem if I don't. And I don't want to delete pup@old.org from my LinkedIn account without first tying pup@NEW.org to it (actually I currently don't want to delete it at all) because I think that might also be a security vulnerability.

So, for security purposes, please find a way for me to reach the admins at LinkedIn to explain the situation to them so that they will allow me to add pup@NEW.org to my LinkedIn account, while keeping the two current email addresses, one of which is pup@old.org. At present, I really hope you (and they) will not tell me to just live with it, or that I should do something else. But please do if you think that is the best thing.

---UPDATE---
I just found out that I could create a LinkedIn ticket. I started at Contact LinkedIn customer support | LinkedIn Help, which, within two links, linked the ticket submitting page LinkedIn Help through the link in item 2 "Access the LinkedIn Support homepage."

So I will now submit a ticket strongly based on this post with the mandatory "Issue Type" field filled with "Other."
