When I upload videos to youtube it seems to take the title from the file name, but it replaces special characters with whitespace, so if I upload a file named "I'm gonna be (500 Miles) - The Proclaimers.mkv", the Youtube title will be I'm gonna be 500 miles The Proclaimers. I have to manually edit the title to correct it, which can be time consuming if uploading many videos.
I have tried setting the title in the video file metadata with ffmpeg, but that has no effect. The API allows you to specify title when uploading, but that comes with its own issues, including a default quota of 6 uploads per day.
Is there a way to upload videos to youtube with titles that include special characters, without having to manually edit the titles one-by-one after uploading?
