Environment: Firefox 102.12.0esr on Debian 11.
The problem I have is that when I type in something on the google search page, it will randomly substitute what I type with something - because Google knows better than I. Here's an example from this morning; it happens every day, to the extent that it hardly is worth using google search - but still intermittently, so if I try again a little later, it doesn't necessarily happen:
In this case I was typing in 'Percona'; I mean, WTF? There doesn't seem to be any way to disable whatever this misfeature is called, and I have searched (with several other search engines).
I can of course just use something else, but it can be hard to avoid Google search, since they seem to weasel in everywhere, and anyway, this also seems like a particularly obnoxious attempt at sneaking advertising in through so-called trending searches.
I think this problem arises from somewhere in the javascript code that Google now insist you enable - I didn't have this problem in the past when I always used google search with javascript disabled, but the search no longer works in that case.
So, is there any way to disable this feature in Firefox, so Google search does nothing but search for what I type in, spelling mistakes and all?
