I wonder about the climate impact of storing large files online. However, if cloud storage providers employed file deduplication across user accounts, the impact of storing (e.g.) large installation files (such as Visual Studio, Intel Compiler, ...) would be virtually zero, assuming that at least one other user has stored the same file.
Do cloud storage providers deduplicate files across accounts?
