I sometimes go to https://recorder.google.com to access the recordings that I've made using the Google Recorder app for Pixel phones. It is quite useful for that.
Is it possible to make new recordings in the web browser at the URL https://recorder.google.com ? Can I upload audio files using the web browser to this website?
Edit: My question was closed as lacking clarity or details. I'm not sure which details are needed, but I will try. Rubén asked me:
Click the ? button in recorder.google.com then Learn more or "Learn more about Recorder" link at the bottom of the page, read throughly add what you found and why it didn't meet your needs.
I went to recorder.google.com . Here is what I saw:
Interesting. It says I can share audio with Recorder for web. I wonder how I can do that. It doesn't say how. I click on "Learn more about Recorder" (clicking on "?" button takes me to the same place):
That's interesting that I can transcribe this audio. But that doesn't answer my question. Maybe if I watch the video. I click the link. It doesn't work at first because of issues with YouTube. But a couple of minutes later, I can start watching the video.
OK, that was a cute video about Pixel the dog, and how it compares to Pixel the app. But I still don't have an answer to my question. Back to the previous page.
Nope. This information about search doesn't answer my question. Let's keep reading.
This information about editing is interesting. But it still doesn't answer my question about adding a recording using the web interface. Let's keep reading.
It is interesting to read that I can share audio. But I still don't have an answer to my question. Let's keep reading.
These features are interesting. But adding audio using the web interface isn't mentioned. I need to keep reading.
I got to the end of the page and still no information about whether I can upload audio using the web interface. Let's search webapps.stackexchange.com :
The only result is this question, which was closed because it apparently lacked clarity or details. I guess I will try Google:
- The first result is about a Chrome extension called Audio Recorder, and is not relevant
- The second result is about the Recorder app, but it doesn't answer my question about whether it is possible to upload a recording to recorder.google.com
- The third result is recorder.google.com , which I have already looked at
- The fourth result is a blog post about Google Assistant Action, and is irrelevant
- The fifth result is about web development, and is irrelevant
- The sixth result is about sharing audio, but doesn't answer my question
- The seventh result is this question post, which has been closed, because it apparently lacked clarity or details.
Now, Rubén mentioned a "? button". I wonder if I log in with another Google account, I will get a different result. I try to log in using a different Google account, and I click on the "?" button. This is what I see:
It says that I can record audio using the Recorder app. But is it possible to upload audio to recorder.google.com ? I watch the video:
I still don't have an answer to this question. I guess by implication, the answer is no, there isn't a way to use the web interface to upload an audio file, but so far, I have found no documentation to say this. Many web apps in my experience have undocumented features, which is why I often search Google and Stack Exchange for answers. Sadly, Stack Exchange did not have the answer this time, but maybe I can find the answer and contribute it to Stack Exchange.
Hopefully, my question is clear enough and detailed enough that it can be re-opened now. It would be great if Web Apps Stack Exchange could provide a place for this question. I would like people to contribute answers that get corrected with time using upvotes, downvotes, comments and edits. That way, people like me and lurkers can find a great answer to this question straight away when they search on Stack Exchange.
