My university email uses Outlook (Office365) and has Two-Factor Authentication, and I want to use Gmail interface via SMTP. How do enable this?

I used to be able to use my Outlook (Office 365) email on Gmail by doing the simple SMTP settings, like the one illustrated here. However, my university recently had Two-Factor Authentication, so the previous functionality no longer works. I contacted my university's IT department but was told that the school doesn't support Gmail interface. What suggestions do you all have?
