How to create a separate password on Twitter when the account was created through Google (OAuth or social login)?

If I want to keep a Twitter account created through a Google account (so called OAuth) but unlink it now from Google (or conversely if I want to deactivate a Twitter account created in such a way), the first thing I need on Twitter is to verify my password - however, Twitter doesn't have access to my Gmail account, and there is no separate password ever recorded just for Twitter.

Likewise, if I try to "reset" (really create) my password I am going to need my email address and / or phone, but neither one of them are accessible when entered on the Twitter interface.

Is there a method, besides sending some sort of special request to a human at Twitter, to address this glitch?
