Gmail "indent" operates differently on Chrome and Edge

Pressing "indent" while composing a GMail message does different things on Chrome and Edge.

I frequently select several paragraphs, and press CTRL-[ to indent.On Chrome all the paragraphs move, which is generally what I want.On Edge only the first paragraph moves.

Is there a way to get the Chrome behavior under Edge? What attribute of the browser or gmail causes this behavior difference?
