I have set up the Google Meet web app on my Ubuntu Linux system, as follows:
- In the Chrome address bar, enter "chrome://apps"
- Right-click on "Google Meet", and make sure that "Open as window" and "Start app when you sign in" are checked.
- Left-click on the "Google Meet" tile.
The Google Meet app opens in its own window (this will also happen automatically when you restart the system with the above options checked).
Now, I have two Google users set up. Let's call the User1 and User2. User1 is the user that I use for most things, and is the user whose Chrome profile is always open. However, for Google Meet, I always want to use User2.
When the Google Meet app is launched, it is connected to User1, which is understandable, since that's the user for the Chrome profile that's in use. Therefore, I need to switch the Google Meet app to use User2.
I attempt to do this by clicking my avatar in the upper right corner of the Google Meet app, and choosing "User2". Unfortunately, instead of changing the Google Meet app window's account to User2, it opens a new tab in my main Chrome window for Google Meet using User2. The Google Meet app remains connected to User1.
How can I switch the Google Meet app's own window to a user other than that of the main Chrome profile? Ideally, I would like to configure the Google Meet app to ALWAYS start up as User2, but if that's not possible, I'd settle for being able to change it manually after startup.
