How can I create a spreadsheet containing one row of metadata for each Gmail message (in a label)?

In order to do an analysis, I would like to somehow be able to make a spreadsheet containing a list of my Gmail messages (in a label if possible), without the actual message or attachments. The columns would include at minimum From, Subject and Date. I originally thought this might be possible with some type of query, but any method works, as it won't be happening to often and manually doing it each time is fine.
