I am trying to make on cell value dependent on another cell value in the same row. I have a "Project List" spreadsheet with Data Validation list in column B with several Project Status (IE: Urgent, Active, Waiting for Client...) that I want to group together, but in a specific order, not just alphabetically.
I am doing this currently by having numbers (IE 01, 02, 03...) in column A in the order I want to group the rows, and organizing column A alphabetically when I am done updating the projects, but I have to remember to manually change the number in A when I change the status in B (I have the numbers white to be "invisible")
Is it possible to link the 2 columns, so that when I change the value in B, column A automatically updates? So, if column B lists "Urgent", I want column A to say "01". B="Active", A="02". B="Waiting for Client" A="03" and so on?
