I am using Thunderbird 60.9.0. recently I was blocked by google from my gmail account because it decided it was not me accessing my account. I have just got back from holidays where I was accessing my account from a different location. Now that I am home google has decided I mustn't be me. I have clicked on the button confirming it was me (several times) but I am still unable to send emails. I have received 2 emails advising that my google account has been restored but the problem remains. Although I can receive, each time I try to send an email I get this error message.
Login to server smtp.googlemail.com with username xxxxxxxxxx@gmail.com failed.
Of course it stated my proper email address.
I can't find any other suggestions as to what to do.
Can anyone help?
This seems to be related to the security issue of google. Ages ago I selected less secure sites but still have this problem.
